Job Summary: To perform the diversified duties required to coordinate echocardiography quality standards across all echo labs at CaroMont Health. Analyze, evaluate, and determine requirements to assist with design, modification, and implementation of new or modified programs to demonstrate the consistency of quality and performance. Organize and facilitate all Echo teammates’ on-boarding, competence validation, and continuing education across CaroMont Health. Maintain a working knowledge of the electronic medical record (EMR) and PACS systems to coordinate and maintain consistency within reporting platforms across the organization. Will assist with the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) echo accreditation for CaroMont Health . Performs the duties involved in operating echocardiograph equipment to perform various cardiac sonography studies including 2 and 3-dimensional images, strain, M-Modes, cardiac and color flow doppler, and transesophageal echocardiogram (TEEs) in support of structural heart (TAVR, watchman, MitraClip, PFO/ASD Closure, etc.). The expectation of providing patient care 60-70% of the time and managing education and quality functions to other 30-40% of the time (this time split can vary and be adjusted based on the needs of the Echo Lab at any given time). Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications: Registry credential in cardiac sonography through ARDMS or CCI is required. Associates degree or Diploma in cardiovascular technology/sonography ore equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Advanced credential preferred (FASE, ACS, RCCS, RVS, RVT, or RDCS-Pediatric subspecialty). A minimum of three years of experience in echocardiography. Considerable knowledge and skill in setting up and operating echocardiograph equipment, cardiac anatomy and physiology, and cardiac diseases and abnormalities. Considerable skills in dealing tactfully and effectively with a broad variety of individuals including physicians, management and clinical teammates, patients, families, and others. Must be able to problem-solve, handle emergencies, and have time management skills. Considerable skills in verbal and written communications are required, as well as computer knowledge and skills. Ability to manage numerous diverse performance improvement and other projects simultaneously through effective priority setting and organization. BLS required.
