Grafton Job Corps Center is a federally funded program and assist students ages 16-24 with receiving the education, career skills and credentials they need to become successful members of the workforce.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
This individual is responsible for aiding trainees in learning Medical Assistant through instruction. The skills the CMA Instructor would be responsible for training in; taking vital signs, EKG, phlebotomy, learning administrative medical duties, obtain a Mental Health Technician certification, and learn other life-skills that will be essential in a professional health care environment. The CMA instructor will also help set up clinical exams for trainees to obtain their state and national licenses. The rewarding knowledge and skillset can lead to job placement or continued education within the field.
JOB DUTIES:
+ Responsible to provide students with training leading to Career Technical Training completion and industry-recognized certifications
+ Provides students with comprehensive and individualized case management that ensures student progress, achievement and completion of the Job Corps program
+ Provides quality Clinical Medical Assistant (CMA) training that leads to student job placement
+ Provides students with job leads and monitors placement of all graduates with the help of the Career Transition Counselors
+ Ensures classroom is well-organized and conducive to student learning
+ Holds students accountable for following Center's uniform dress code and behavioral standards of conduct
+ Produces quality work/assignments in a thorough, timely and accurate manner
+ Plans, prioritizes and organizes assignments to meet established goals and deadlines
+ Understands and applies job knowledge to effectively complete all required job responsibilities
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCEA minimum of one-year experience in teaching or related field required. Certified, licensed, oraccredited in the state in which the center is located, or is accredited by a professional tradeorganization. For NTC, instructor must be certified by union or trade organization, or by a nationaltrade certifying organization. Previous Job Corps experience preferred. Must possess a validDrivers License and meet company insurability requirements.Physical requirements include sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling and/or pushing,carrying, reaching, stooping and crouching. Demonstrates the ability to lift 40 pounds and/or theability to assess the lift load in order to ask for necessary assistance. (Depending upon trade)
