    We are seeking a skilled Technical Writer to create and revise complex technical documentation that supports the marketing, operation, repair, and maintenance of our products. This role requires ensuring that all documents conform to company and government standards, specifications, and language usage principles, utilizing state-of-the-art publishing software technology.

    Responsibilities

    + Create and revise technical documentation using advanced publishing software, including product descriptions, detailed functional descriptions, operating procedures, fault isolation, maintenance and repair procedures, and illustrated parts breakdowns (IPB).

    + Ensure compliance with customer requirements, government specifications, engineering standards, and language usage principles.

    + Engage in customer interaction and customer service, ensuring effective communication with clients.

    + Collaborate with a diverse team across various locations, providing guidance and engaging in problem-solving discussions.

    + Ensure documentation is produced on time and within budget, with attention to detail and a strong command of the English language.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency with XML Authoring Tools such as Arbortext Epic Editor.

    + Proficiency in MS Office Tools/Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

    + Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat Professional PDF Software for illustration markups.

    + Experience and knowledge in mechanical, electrical, or operator technical writing, preferably in the defense industry.

    + Ability to understand and translate complex engineering designs into clear, accurate documentation.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience with validation/verification and on-vehicle processes is a plus.

    + Experience with Content Management Systems (CMS) is a plus.

    + Familiarity with Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM) functionality, development processes, and markup languages is preferred.

    + Familiarity with relevant military and commercial standards.

    + A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant technical discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience, plus 5 additional years of relevant experience.

    Work Environment

    This role involves working with a diverse team across several physical locations. The position requires the use of state-of-the-art publication/page production software and familiarity with IETM functionality and development processes. The work environment emphasizes collaboration and effective communication with clients and team members, ensuring that documentation is produced to high standards within budget and time constraints.

    This is a Contract position based out of York, Pennsylvania.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
