Job Title: Concrete Project Manager
Job Description
As a Sr Concrete Project Manager, you will be the primary point of contact for clients and will oversee all aspects of project management, including financial oversight, scheduling, and contractor relations. You will manage both the Preconstruction and Construction phases, ensuring that project procurement documents are developed and that cost and change management processes are effectively executed.
Responsibilities
+ Serve as the primary point of contact with clients and oversee all project aspects including financial management, change management, scheduling, conflict resolution, and contractor relations.
+ Manage the Preconstruction and Construction phases of assigned projects.
+ Assist in developing project procurement documents for various delivery methods.
+ Oversee the cost/change management process from start to finish for assigned projects.
+ Ensure proper service is provided to the client by managing professional management services and all contracted trades, vendors, consultants, and suppliers.
+ Coordinate with the Design Team to align design package delivery with schedules for estimating, bidding, and construction.
+ Allocate and adjust project resources based on project demands throughout the project lifecycle.
+ Negotiate subcontract agreements and work scopes for all trade contractors, communicating expectations and responsibilities.
+ Execute contractual risk protections, including determining the Builder’s Risk Insurance approach and ensuring required coverage.
+ Promote safety as the top priority on the project, ensuring all workers are aware of hazardous conditions and actions, and addressing any unsafe situations.
+ Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations issued by OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory agencies.
+ Establish work and authority scopes for project team members and communicate expectations and responsibilities.
+ Manage conflict and disputes, focusing on developing mutually acceptable solutions aligned with contractual agreements.
+ Promote development of knowledge, leadership skills, and partnerships for project team members.
+ Provide motivational and constructive feedback to team members regarding their impact on the project’s success.
+ Provide on-site leadership for project teams, building and motivating team members to meet project goals and adhere to responsibilities and milestones.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or relevant coursework.
+ Ten or more years of work experience in construction or a related field.
+ Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Master’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or related fields preferred.
+ OSHA 30 and OSHA 10 training preferred.
+ Strong analytical and organizational skills.
+ Ability to maintain stable performance under pressure.
+ Strong computer knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Outlook.
+ Advanced knowledge of construction project management software.
+ Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Work Environment
The majority of work is completed outside at the construction site and in an office trailer. The position is exposed to construction equipment noises and requires wearing protective equipment such as hardhats, safety glasses, and high visibility clothing. Conditions may vary depending on the weather and seasons. Physical demands include standing, walking, sitting, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Travel to and from the construction site is required, with most travel being local, though some long-distance travel may be required.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Knoxville, Tennessee.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $130000.00/hr.
