    **Summary** Junior process engineer is in charge of designing and developing procedures to optimize manufacturing operations. Including understanding and identifying the needs of the company, gathering and analyzing data, developing prototypes and test structures, managing budgets and timelines, and producing regular progress reports. May also assess existing systems and procedures, recommending solutions for problem areas. Provides support to staff while implementing the company's policies and regulations. Provides engineering support for ongoing and new operations by performing the following duties.

    **JUNIOR PROCESS ENGINEER RESPONSIBILITIES** include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    + Lead and assist maintenance in resolving equipment malfunctions, troubleshoot process problems, and organize and implement preventative maintenance procedures.

    + Ensure compliance with BRC and OSHA regulations.

    + Monitor and control programmable logic controller (PLC).

    + Maintain responsibility for manufacturing.

    + Systemize the Deviation/CAPA and train on investigations utilizing DMAIC.

    + Designs methods for maintaining or increasing production levels while improving production costs, yields, quality, and safety.

    + Troubleshoots process problems and identifies solutions which reduce downtime and conserve maintenance costs.

    + Monitors process equipment to identify potential errors and develops solutions to eliminate the reoccurrence of those problems.

    + Designs and conducts plant trials to determine performance capabilities.

    + Develops and updates process procedures to ensure that documentation is accurate and understandable.

    + Determines the test methods, procedures, parts, and equipment needed to implement engineering changes.

    + Determines the layout of equipment, and utilities for engineering changes.

    + Interfaces with all levels of management and employees to gather information and provide guidance for implementation.

    + Set objectives, plans, and schedule multiple projects to accomplish defined objectives to meet manufacturing goals.

    + Develop and improve existing processes and methods for control and troubleshooting of manufacturing technical problems.

    + Ensure equipment uptime through the expedient, effective resolutions of production equipment problems to meet customer needs.

    + Independently perform process and project activities with general instruction.

    + Manage line priorities to assure that all activity is directed in alignment with Business Unit objectives and serve as the process technical expert for one area within the plant.

    + Recommend and coordinate process improvement activities with the Line Support and Operations groups (Lean initiatives)

    + Support Manufacturing Equipment Excellence (ME2)

    Supervisory Responsibilities

    Supervises one to five Engineering Interns. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the interns. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

    Education and/or Experience

     

    Fifth year college or university program certificate; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

     

    Language Skills

     

    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

     

    Mathematical Skills

     

    Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

     

    Reasoning Ability

     

    Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

     

    Computer Skills

     

    To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Contact Management systems; Design software; Internet software; Manufacturing software; Project Management software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

    **Pay Details:** $33.00 to $39.00 per hour
