_Maintenance Technician_

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician for a 1st shift position from 7 AM to 4 PM. This role includes paid breaks and lunches, provided employees remain on the property. The position requires on-call availability every 5-6 weeks for one full week, including weekends. Candidates must reside within 30 minutes of the facility and use their own cell phone during on-call periods. On-call duty begins after 3-4 months of employment and includes additional compensation.

Responsibilities

+ Perform maintenance and preventative maintenance following 4-5 different lists.

+ Maintain daily and weekly preventative maintenance tasks, tracked both digitally and on paper.

+ Handle work orders, projects, and on-call maintenance, including conveyors, grinders, packaging equipment, sifters, motors, belts, bearings, trailer maintenance, cleaning, and power washing of equipment.

+ Twice a year, replace motors, belts, and bearings at heights up to 160 feet.

+ Conduct minor facilities maintenance such as small plumbing repairs, painting, and light fixture changes.

+ Perform metal fabrication to repair broken equipment.

Essential Skills

+ 5 years of mechanical maintenance experience on industrial equipment.

+ 3 years of metal fabrication experience.

+ Basic computer knowledge including Excel and email.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience in food maintenance.

+ Electrical knowledge including troubleshooting and basic wiring.

+ Farming background.

Work Environment

This role is within a food manufacturing company where tasks will be performed both indoors and outdoors, regardless of weather conditions.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lowell, Michigan.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
