Job Title: Diesel Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Diesel Technician to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered vehicles and equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality workmanship.
Responsibilities
+ Perform routine maintenance and inspections on diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems.
+ Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic tools and software.
+ Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems, including fuel systems, emissions controls, and hydraulics.
+ Conduct preventative maintenance to minimize vehicle downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
+ Maintain accurate records of services performed, parts used, and time spent on repairs.
+ Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
+ Collaborate with other technicians and supervisors to prioritize and complete work orders efficiently.
+ Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe.
+ Stay current with industry trends, tools, and technologies through ongoing training and certifications.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ High school diploma or GED; technical certification or associate degree in diesel technology or related field preferred.
+ 2+ years of experience as a diesel mechanic or technician (fleet, heavy-duty, or commercial vehicles).
+ Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, hand tools, and power tools.
+ Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems, air brakes, DEF systems, and electronic controls.
+ Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and repair instructions.
+ Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred or willingness to obtain.
+ ASE certifications (T-Series or equivalent) are a plus.
+ Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $43860.00 - $72800.00/yr.
