    Job Title: Grinder Operator

    Job Description

    FIRST SHIFT 8am-4:30pm $17+/hr

     

    The Grinder Operator is responsible for setting up and operating grinding machinery to meet production standards and customer needs. The role involves processing tooling parts with high precision and using visual and measuring tools to ensure parts meet specifications.

    Responsibilities

    + Process tooling parts with high precision.

    + Grind ID and OD diameters and perform surface grinding.

    + Efficiently work on oblong parts.

    + Ensure parts have the desired finish.

    + Use visual cues and measuring tools to ensure parts are finished correctly and within specifications.

    + Accurately line up tooling in sections and plates.

    + Apply alignment techniques and die adjustment knowledge.

    + Complete assigned jobs according to work schedules and production needs.

    + Report any defective or damaged parts to the Supervisor immediately.

    + Collaborate with the Supervisor and other departments to identify and resolve tooling issues.

    + Ensure work areas are clean and organized.

    + Adhere to all safety and quality requirements and objectives.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience with grinding and CNC machine operation.

    + 1+ year of blueprint experience.

    + Troubleshooting and maintenance technician skills.

    + Ability to set up machines and perform die changes.

    + Competency in using calipers and micrometers.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + High School Degree or GED.

    + 2 to 5 years of prior manufacturing experience.

    + Desirable machining knowledge.

    + Attention to detail and ability to inspect parts for imperfections.

    + Proficiency in using production gauges.

    + Strong time management and collaboration skills.

    Work Environment

     

    The work is conducted in a large facility in Pompano Beach, featuring a stamping press machine area without air conditioning. The environment can be loud and involves moderate exposure to dirt, dust, fumes, and unpleasant odors. The job requires flexibility with potential Saturday work or adjustments to shift times based on volume needs. Safety equipment such as steel toe boots, safety glasses, rubber boots, an apron, gloves, and hearing protection are mandatory. The dress code prohibits shorts, dresses, or skirts, requiring pants at all times.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pompano Beach, Florida.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $20.00/hr.
