    Job Title: Mechanical Assembler

    Job Description

    As a Mechanical Assembler, you will engage in brazing copper to copper piping using an oxyacetylene torch. Each project is custom, requiring you to cut piping to specific lengths and braze it according to unique customer specifications. You will work from blueprints and assist in assembling the housings for the units. This role involves a significant amount of physical activity, including bending, kneeling, and twisting.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform brazing of copper piping using an oxyacetylene torch.

    + Cut and assemble piping based on customer specifications and blueprints.

    + Assist in the assembly of unit housings.

    + Engage in physical activities such as bending, kneeling, and twisting throughout the day.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience with mechanical assembly, brazing, and use of hand tools.

    + Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.

    + Proficiency with tape measure for cutting pipes and insulation.

    + Mechanical aptitude with at least 3+ months of related experience.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience in complex machine operation or construction.

    + Plumbers and entry-level welders are encouraged to apply.

    + Experience in repairing machinery or automotive work is beneficial.

    Work Environment

     

    The role is set in a large manufacturing building with teams of 3-4 people working together. The environment is fast-paced and well-lit, though it can get dirty due to the nature of the work. Working hours are Monday to Thursday, from 5:00am to 3:30pm or 6:00am to 4:30pm. Although there is no air conditioning, fans are provided to ensure airflow. Steel-toed shoes and long pants are required.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
