Job Title: Material Handler $26-27
Job Description
The individual in this position will be responsible for unloading semis, staging products, and handling materials after they have been cut to length. Initially, they will support operators with material handling and, as they become more comfortable, will learn to operate plasma cutting and cut-to-length machines. The role is crucial for a supplier of sheet metal products, where materials are either cut to length, shipped, or rerolled before shipping.
Responsibilities
+ Unload semis and stage products.
+ Handle materials post-cutting.
+ Support operators with material handling.
+ Learn and operate cut-to-length lines and plasma cutters.
+ Process orders for customers.
Essential Skills
+ Experience with overhead cranes is highly advantageous.
+ 1 year of manufacturing experience.
+ Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Knowledge of material handling and inventory management.
+ Experience with sheet metal and production processes.
+ Proficiency in loading, unloading, and order picking.

Work Environment
The position is based in a very large industrial warehouse, originally built to accommodate large-scale construction projects. The environment is old-school with fluctuating temperatures due to constantly opening and closing doors. Employees are provided with two 15-minute breaks and a 30-minute unpaid lunch. There is an initial training period on the first shift for up to one month. Safety training and paperwork are completed on the first day. Steel toe boots with non-detachable meta-tarsal covers are required.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Roseville, Minnesota.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $27.05/hr.
