Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Charleston, South Carolina. The ideal candidate will play a key role in managing the organization's financial processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. This position requires a highly meticulous individual with strong analytical skills and the ability to handle complex financial tasks efficiently.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage all aspects of the month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate reporting.

• Prepare and review general ledger journal entries, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with accounting standards.

• Perform detailed account reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial data.

• Conduct bank reconciliations, resolving discrepancies and maintaining accurate records.

• Monitor and manage grant accounting activities, ensuring proper allocation and compliance with grant requirements.

• Analyze financial statements and reports to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.

• Collaborate with internal teams to optimize accounting processes and improve financial reporting.

• Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and provide necessary support during audits.

• Ensure adherence to internal controls and compliance with regulatory requirements.

• Provide financial insights and recommendations to support informed decision-making within the organization.

Requirements • A minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a senior role.

• Proficiency in handling month-end close procedures and preparing general ledger entries.

• Demonstrated expertise in account reconciliation and bank reconciliation processes.

• Strong understanding of grant accounting principles and practices.

• Advanced knowledge of accounting standards and financial regulations.

• Exceptional analytical skills with a keen eye for accuracy and detail.

• Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
