    Job Title: Payroll & Benefits Operations SpecialistJob Description

     

    We are seeking a detail-oriented and tech-savvy Payroll & Benefits Operations Specialist to support our HR/Accounting Payroll Team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in Excel, enjoys working with data, and has experience with payroll systems and benefits administration.

    Responsibilities

    + Utilize payroll platforms such as ADP Workforce Now, UKG, Workday, or similar systems.

    + Assist with pre-payroll processes including timesheet scrubbing, identifying discrepancies, and coordinating with managers to resolve issues.

    + Work extensively in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and data auditing.

    + Import/export data for payroll and benefits purposes.

    + Pull and analyze reports to identify trends or errors.

    + Support benefits billing processes including health insurance, FSA, and other employee benefits.

    + Download and manage billing spreadsheets, verify codes, and ensure accurate accounting entries.

    + Conduct audits of I-9 forms and other employment documentation for accuracy and compliance.

    + Maintain organized records and ensure adherence to company and legal standards.

    + Regularly communicate with approximately 30 internal contacts, including department managers and HR personnel.

    + Collaborate to resolve payroll and benefits-related issues and ensure smooth operations.

    Essential Skills

    Work Environment

    The role is primarily onsite from Tuesday to Thursday, but flexibility is offered for those who live farther and can only work two days a week. The position requires 30 hours a week due to budget constraints, but if someone needs 40 hours, it may be considered. The role is expected to last until January 30, 2026, with the possibility of extension.

    This is a Contract position based out of Baltimore, Maryland.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
