Position: RS ROSS FSS Coordinator

MDHA serves Nashville and Davidson County. The mission of MDHA is to create quality affordable housing opportunities, support neighborhoods, strengthen communities, and help build a greater Nashville.
MDHA employs over 300 staff members, has a budget of $185 million, and houses approximately 30,000 people, primarily through nearly 8,000 Section 8 Vouchers and over 6,800 apartments, which are mainly Project-Based Rental Assistance (PBRA) units, at 39 properties. MDHA is a housing authority, a community development agency, and a redevelopment agency.
Position Summary
The RS ROSS Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) program will assist residents in improving the overall quality of life being assisted through ROSS FSS initiatives.
Typical Duties
Key Duties and Responsibilities
+ Recruiting and Selecting Program Participants
+ Recruit, screen, and qualify participants.
+ Host quarterly FSS enrollment sessions to identify new program participants.
+ Program Management
+ Interview FSS participants to assess their needs, develop an individual plan, and initiate a contract of participation for the ROSS FSS program.
+ Maintain case files for the FSS program participants, conduct interim and annual re-examinations.
+ Work with ROSS FSS home ownership partners to develop strategic evidence-based programming that includes innovative training to increase home ownership opportunities and facilitate homeownership achievement.
+ Complete grant reports, internal reports, and action plans as needed.
+ Carefully track spending and monitor grant budgets as well as internal budgets.
+ Coordinate with partners to produce resident training, workshops, and activities that facilitate economic self-sufficiency, enhanced employment marketability, and personal growth
+ Collect data independently or from partners to analyze and measure program effectiveness and impact.
+ Provide general customer service to all MDHA Resident Services' clients to include information, referrals, and emergency referrals.
+ Partnership Engagement
+ Recruit and maintain positive, effective, and impactful relationships with new and existing partners representing residents, service providers, community-based organizations, nonprofits, government organizations, and other relevant community stakeholders.
+ Conduct Partner Meetings.
Minimum Qualifications
Education, Experience & Other Requirements
Bachelor's degree in social sciences, community development, nonprofit administration, or
similar degree, and three (3) years of experience managing a self-sufficiency grant.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with public and private
entities. Ability to communicate effectively with the residents of MDHA, the Board of
Commissioners, and departments and agencies of Metro Government. Speak
effectively in public to small or large groups. Excellent group facilitation skills. Work
collaboratively with service providers, community-based organizations, nonprofits,
government organizations, and other relevant community stakeholders
Technical Expertise
Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations, FSS programs, and practices.
Detail-oriented; ability to analytically solve problems, make sound judgments, and
exercise good decision-making ability to perform short and long-range planning.
Resilience
Willingness, mental and physical ability to perform the duties involved in this
classification. The ability to perform work with or without accommodation requires the
ability to sit, stand, and walk; dexterity of the hands; clarity of vision, speech, and hearing;
and the power of observation, as well as other physical duties as required.
Software Management
Skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft software.

Metro offers a generous core benefit package to eligible employees who are regularly and consistently working 20 or more hours per week.
