Description
Our customer is needing a Technical PM located in the Roanoke, IN and onsite 5 days per week. This is a 1 year long contract position.
This team is deploying AI-based camera systems across multiple manufacturing sites to detect defects in real-time, reduce warranty costs, and prevent costly plant shutdowns. This initiative supports their goal of producing high-quality vehicles with zero defects. We are seeking experienced Technical Project Managers to lead site-level execution of this initiative. Each PM will serve as the primary point of contact for their assigned location, coordinating hardware installation, software deployment, and reporting progress to the central team.
Lead on-site execution of AI camera installation (approx. 200 cameras per site)
Coordinate with hardware delivery schedules and installation teams
Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and deliverables
Serve as the main liaison between site teams and the central manager in Austin
Support onboarding of Software Engineers in early 2026
Ensure smooth deployment of software and hardware solutions
Maintain documentation and provide regular status updates

Top Skills Details
Ideally experience working in a manufacturing plant environment, ability to deal with the personalities that come in that environment
At least 2 years of true PM experience, but must come from a more technical experience
Additional Skills & Qualifications
5+ years of experience in technical project management
Experience in computer science, engineering, or similar technical field
Experience transitioning from technical roles (e.g., coding) to functional PM roles
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Experience in manufacturing or plant environments preferred
Familiarity with hardware/software deployment projects is a plus
PMP or other formal PM certifications are beneficial
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $58.00/hr.
