We are seeking a forward-thinking Operations Manager to take the reins of their rapidly growing Building Automation Systems (BAS) and Controls division. This is a high-impact, strategic leadership role designed for an individual ready to combine hands-on operational oversight with a long-term strategic vision, positioning the division as an industry leader.

Key Responsibilities

As the Operations Manager, you will be the driving force behind the division's performance and growth.

P&L & Strategic Growth

+ Own the P&L: Oversee all division operations, budgeting, forecasting, and performance metrics, ensuring profitable operations and strategically managed growth.

+ Define the Future: Track emerging BAS and HVAC technologies and market trends, translating them into actionable business plans for growth opportunities and new service offerings.

+ Build Partnerships: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with major clients and vendors, serving as the division’s trusted executive partner.

Leadership & Operations

+ Mentor & Develop: Lead, hire, and develop a skilled technical team, including programmers, installers, and project managers, through effective training and performance management.

+ Ensure Excellence: Foster a culture of safety, accountability, innovation, and collaboration to ensure the highest quality project delivery across all BAS initiatives.

+ Process Improvement: Drive operational efficiency and standardized processes across all project phases.

Skills and Qualifications

+ The ideal candidate blends executive leadership with technical expertise in mechanical contracting.

+ BAS Industry Expertise: Strong background and working knowledge of Building Automation Systems (BAS) and controls, specifically as they relate to HVAC systems. Experience across the broader MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) trades is a significant advantage.

+ Proven Leadership: Demonstrated success in managing and mentoring technical teams, developing people, and fostering a strong, positive team culture.

+ Financial Acumen: Direct experience with P&L accountability, financial forecasting, budget management, and metric-based performance.

+ Technical Familiarity: A solid understanding of BAS systems, construction drawings, and project processes. (Hands-on programming or installation experience is a plus, but not required to lead the division).

+ Mindset: A true entrepreneurial and visionary leader who can anticipate industry shifts and seize market opportunities.

+ Professional: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
