• Systems Engineer

    **MANTECH** seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented **Systems Engineer** to join our team in **Patuxent River, MD** . This is an **on-site** position.

     

    This position supports the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Systems Engineering Department (SED). This is an opportunity to be part of a team that plays a crucial role in keeping our nation’s military safe and mission successful.

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    + Coordinating and managing projects for the AARGM-ER program in support of the Platform/Stores Integration competency, Program Manager, and IPT leaders

    + Developing requirements, store integration plans, and performing engineering analyses to ensure total weapon system performance. Apply programmatic and technical knowledge to identify, design, and test solutions for complex engineering problems

    + Managing and executing the airworthiness process for all store integration activities, including coordinating data requirements with subject matter experts and reviewing flight clearances for technical accuracy and safety

    + Preparing and reviewing a variety of technical documentation, including project directives, specifications, Test and Evaluation Master Plans (TEMPs), test plans, and contract deliverables

    + Establishing and maintaining communication with key stakeholders (project team leaders, NAVAIRSYSCOM, IPT members) and serving as a department representative at conferences, design reviews, program meetings, and symposia

    Minimum Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s degree in a technical or scientific field from an accredited college or university

    + 10+ years of recent and relevant engineering experience with at least 3+ years directly related to DoD systems

    + Demonstrated experience in an area of engineering expertise

    + Weapons and Store Integration experience

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Airworthiness experience to include NAVAIR airworthiness requirements, flight clearances, and safety of flight

    + Aircraft/weapons integration experience

    Clearance Requirements:

    + Must have an active Secret security clearance.

    Physical Requirements:

    + Tasking is primarily computer based. The person in this position must be able to operate and perform tasking on a PC as well as operate other typical office equipment (e.g. copying machine, shredder, projection systems, etc.).

    + Must be able to effectively communicate with co-workers, Customers, and management through email, phone, and other virtual communication methods (e.g. TEAMS, ZOOM).
