    We are currently looking for an Industrial Maintenance Technician – Mechanical to join our dynamic, fast-paced, and growing team. The Industrial Maintenance Technician – Mechanical is responsible for supporting Rhoads’ Maintenance Department in maintaining and repairing equipment and facilities to ensure smooth, safe, and consistent operations across all Rhoads Industries’ business lines. This role is essential in minimizing downtime, improving reliability, and supporting production needs through effective mechanical maintenance and repair. The Maintenance Department shares responsibility with the Rhoads Quality/Safety Director for upholding and enforcing all applicable safety precautions and programs associated with the use and maintenance of equipment. The Industrial Maintenance Technician – Mechanical is expected to thoroughly read, understand, and follow Rhoads’ standard procedures for equipment maintenance, ISO 9000 standards related to tools, and all applicable ASME and AISC requirements governing equipment and tool standards.

     

    What You Will Be Doing

     

    + Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair equipment including: Large Fabrication Equipment, Forklifts, Scissor Lifts, Articulating Boom Lifts, Hand Tools, and Air Compressors.

    + Perform monthly preventative maintenance on tools, heavy machinery, and fabrication equipment; Follow lubrication standards in Rhoads preventative maintenance program.

    + Maintain accurate records of preventative maintenance, repairs, and modifications on equipment.

    + Responsible for maintaining an inventory of service and repair parts.

    + Organize to support multiple projects and prioritize to meet required deadlines.

    + Maintain clean work area in maintenance shop. Provide support to facility maintenance tasks and any other assigned duties as required.

    + Must be capable and willing to work flexible hours and overtime when required.

    + Must possess a valid driver’s license.

    + Additional duties as assigned.

     

    Your Background

     

    + High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical certification or associate degree in industrial mechanics, maintenance technology, or a related field preferred.

    + ASE, Overhead Crane Certificates, Mobile Equipment Certification, Air Compressor Certification preferred.

    + Minimum 5 years’ experience in industrial maintenance or mechanical repair, with a strong understanding of mechanical systems and machinery.

    + Experience and knowledge of minor repairs for welding machines, breakers, and wiring for electrical circuitry.

    + Strong analytical skills with the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues effectively.

    + Understanding and familiar with ISO, and UL Certifications.

    + Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to pass all background clearances including but not limited to Motor Vehicle Check, and a drug screening.

    + Must be capable and willing to work flexible hours and overtime when required.

    + Must possess a valid driver’s license.

    + OSHA 10 certificate. Must be completed within 90 days of Hire.

    + Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with Project Executives, Project Managers, Foremen, Craftsmen, and all members of the Rhoads Project Team, including customers of the Tool & Equipment function.

    + Solid knowledge of mechanical repair, with the ability to learn continuously, apply innovative solutions, and demonstrate strong critical thinking skills.

    + Proven ability to manage multiple responsibilities, set priorities, and oversee concurrent projects effectively.

    + Ability to perform successfully in time-sensitive and high-pressure situations.

    + Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, accuracy, and sound analytical capabilities.

    + Demonstrates initiative, collaboration, persistence, and tact, with the ability to think strategically and influence outcomes effectively.

     

    The Work Environment at Rhoads

     

    + Capable of meeting the physical requirements of the position, including lifting, carrying, and other manual labor tasks.

    + Must be capable of lifting at least 50 lbs.

    + Must be capable of working in a variety of physical positions, including sitting, standing, walking, climbing, and driving in an automobile;

    + May require walking and standing on irregular and uneven surfaces in an industrial setting;

    + Must be comfortable performing work at heights of up to 100 feet;

    + The performance of this position involves exposure to construction or industrial areas where the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety toe boots, hard hats, and hearing protection is required.
