Job Summary and Qualifications

As the Scheduling Lead, you will be responsible for scheduling patient procedures to be performed by obtaining the complete and accurate patient demographics and procedure information from physician offices. You will quality audit information for accuracy, interact with business services customers, work with ancillary departments in the facility to schedule procedures and tests performed in different departments, and coordinate any issues and new processes with departments. As the Lead, you will act as a resource, preceptor, and trainer for other schedulers and staff.

+ You will answer phones and schedule, reschedule, or edit procedures per physician requests

+ You will obtain, enter, and update patient demographic information into the scheduling system

+ You will enter and schedule all procedures for outpatients and inpatients and schedule corresponding tests and equipment

+ You will communicate with ancillary departments to facilitate scheduling add-on appointments

+ You will update the scheduling dictionary with procedures and maintain the privileges dictionary, and communicate necessary changes to the analyst

+ You will obtain proper orders according to facility policy and medical bylaws

+ You will follow up with physician offices and ancillary departments regarding complaints or problems

+ You will attend in-service presentations, staff meetings, and complete mandatory education and competencies

Job Qualifications

Experience

+ 3 years of scheduling experience in a hospital or clinic setting

+ Surgery or Radiology experience

Education

+ High school diploma or GED equivalent
