• Cardiovascular Technologist (Non-Invasive)

    + GENERAL SUMMARY

    + Under general department supervision, and following established policies, procedures, and regulations, performs/assists various technical procedures, maintenance, or exams in scope of practice of Cardiovascular Technologist. Reports to department leadership.

    + ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    + Acquires 15-lead electrocardiograms (ECGs).

    + Performs cardiac stress tests (treadmills) including appropriate preparation of skin surfaces in the correct placement of electrodes and routing appropriately in electronic EKG system.

    + Enrolls holter/cardiac event monitors in vendor system and assigns to appropriate reading physician.

    + Processes and routes remote pacemaker interrogations in system and corresponding logs.

    + Serves as point of contact for vendors, patients, and families for troubleshooting and information sharing including the mailing of results letters or overdue transmissions letters, and billing for diagnostic studies

    + Performs all other duties as assigned.

    + MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

    + Required Education and Experience

    + Applicant must have completed or be willing to complete a 12-week monitor surveillance/telemetry course from an accredited school of health professions.

    + Preferred Education and Experience

    + + At least one year of previous pediatric and/or cardiac health related experience preferred.

    + + Performing EKGs, holter/cardiac event knowledge, treadmill stress testing experience preferred.

    + Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    + + Basic knowledge of Cardiac Monitoring Surveillance.

    + WORKING CONDITIONS

    + Possible exposure to infectious agents when handling specimens or hazardous materials but potential for personal harm or injury is reduced when proper safety and health precautions are followed.
