Responsibilities
Tech Levels 3 - 5:
the Weight-Management Primary Care Pharmacy Tech position assists the pharmacist in providing optimal pharmaceutical care to the patients enrolled in the Weight Management Clinic. Effectively performs the activities and duties of the Pharmacy Technician II position. In addition, the technician maintains competency and is scheduled to work with regular frequency in one or more advanced Pharmacy Technician roles.
+ Advanced Pharmacy Technician roles include:
+ Assisting patients access medications affordably
+ Gathering medication history
+ Monitoring reports for medication adherence
+ Managing assigned tasks in Compass Rose
+ Serves as the lead technician in implementing the Weight Management Clinic and any quality improvement projects related
+ Managing complex inventory decisions
+ Technician Instructor / Primary Preceptor
+ Preparing / compounding hazardous medications as a primary job function
+ Working in a practice-specific specialty pharmacy satellite(s) or work area requiring advanced knowledge and skills
+ Serves as a lead technician / super user in pharmacy operations, technology implementations, quality projects, etc.
Qualifications
**Note:** These qualifications apply to the Pharmacy Tech III, which are the minimum qualifications that must be met for levels 3-5.
Required Qualifications
+ High school diploma/GED
+ National Pharmacy Technician Certification
+ 1-year pharmacy tech experience OR completion of an Advanced Level ASHP/ACPE-accredited program
+ 1 Tech III pathway option outlined below:
+ 1 PTCB Certificate
+ Billing and Reimbursement, Controlled Substances Diversion Prevention, Hazardous Drug Management, Immunization Administration, Medication History, Medication Therapy Management, Nonsterile Compounding, Point-of-Care Testing, Regulatory Compliance, Supply Chain and Inventory Management, or Technician Product Verification
+ 1 ASHP Professional Certificate
+ Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Well-Being and Resilience, Medication History-Taking, Pharmacy Accreditation & Regulatory Compliance, Medical Writing, Medication Safety, Investigational Drug Service, Pharmacy Informatics, Basics of Data Analytics, Practical Training in Compounding Sterile Preparations, Drug Diversion, Specialty Pharmacy, Quality Improvement for Pharmacy Professionals, Pharmacy Revenue Cycle Management, or Pharmacy Leadership Certificate
+ 1 Critical Point Certificate
+ Nonsterile Compounding eLearning, or Sterile Compounding & Hazardous Drugs eLearning
Preferred Qualifications
+ Completion of post-secondary education
+ Prior experience performing advanced Pharmacy Technician activities
+ Prior experience as an ambulatory care Pharmacy Technician OR completion of PTCB Medication Therapy Management certificate
Additional Qualifications
+ Effectively reads, writes, speaks and understands English
+ Proven history of effectively performing technical tasks and following written / verbal instructions
+ Able to apply math and calculator skills along with a working knowledge of the metric system
+ Possess strong telephone and verbal communication skills
+ Experience with the use of office software computer applications and keyboarding
+ Demonstrated ability to work in a busy environment and pay attention to detail
+ Proven organizational and problem-solving skills
+ Proven ability to effectively work both independently and in a team environment
+ No history of drug abuse or misuse; or proof of successful completion of a certified drug abuse rehabilitation program is required
License and Certification
+ National Pharmacy Technician Certification required
+ Completion of PTCB Medication Therapy Management certificate preferred
+ Current registration with the Board of Pharmacy in the state he/she is hired to work in where required by state regulation, or eligible to obtain
+ May not perform duties requiring registration until registration is obtained

Compensation Detail
Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
Note: Placement within a level and within the range is dependent on experience and qualifications.
Tech III: $22.83 - $32.71 / hour
Tech IV: $24.72 - $36.10 / hour
Tech V: $26.71 - $39.82 / hour
