At Savage, we know our valued Team Members are key to shared success. We are seeking a driven and resourceful Generalist to join our HR team at our Midvale, UT office. In this role, you will be providing support in a broad range of HR functions, such as recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, benefits administration, and compliance for the Energy and Mineral business. Responsibilities may include conducting interviews, handling employee inquiries, assisting with training and development programs, managing HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) data, and ensuring HR policies and procedures are followed. This role often requires a solid understanding of HR principles and regulations, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.

What you will be doing
+ Partner with hiring leaders to deliver a range of human resources services, including recruitment and staffing, compensation and benefits administration, training and development, and employee/labor relations
+ Supports affirmative action initiatives and ensures compliance with Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) requirements
+ Completes and processes personnel transactions while maintaining accurate and confidential HR records
+ Collect, review, and analyze internal and external HR data to benchmark organizational practices against market trends
+ Monitors and ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations
What we need from you
+ Perform work under general supervision
+ Handle basic to moderately complex issues and problems, and refers more complex issues to higher level staff
+ Possess solid working knowledge of subject matter
+ May provide leadership, coaching, and./or mentoring to hiring leaders
+ Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization
+ Ability to manage multiple priorities with strong attention to detail and accuracy
+ Problem solving mindset with the ability to exercise sound judgement and discretion
Education/Experience
+ Bachelor's Degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related discipline; a Master's degree is preferred
+ 2+ years of related experience
+ SHRM-CP or PHR preferred
+ Extensive employment law knowledge and experience
+ Innovative thinker with strong analytical and problem solving skills
+ Experience in supporting an industrial, manufacturing, supply chain, transportation or logistics industry preferred
+ Fluent in Spanish or French is a plus

+ Work is sedentary in a field office environment
+ Hybrid with intent to move to 100% in office
+ 15% or more travel (as needed)
