Nightwing is seeking an experienced Financial Reporting Manager.
You will be the central authority for all financial reporting, accounting operations, and compliance. Your primary responsibilities will include:
1. Financial Reporting & Technical Expertise
+ **Lead the Full-Cycle Financial Close:** Oversee and manage the complete monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
+ **Prepare and Issue Consolidated Financial Statements:** Lead the preparation, analysis, and review of consolidated financial statements in strict accordance with **US GAAP** .
+ **Technical Accounting Authority:** Serve as the subject matter expert on all complex accounting matters, including new GAAP pronouncements, revenue recognition, purchase accounting, and impairment analyses. Evaluate new developments and recommend appropriate actions.
+ **Audit and Taxation Management:** Serve as the primary interface with external auditors and outsourced tax service providers to oversee the preparation of financial statements, footnote disclosures, and tax reporting requirements.
2. Operational Excellence & Control
+ **Internal Controls & Integrity:** Implement, maintain, and continuously improve robust **internal controls and processes** to ensure the integrity of financial data and the safeguarding of company assets.
+ **Process Improvement:** Drive continuous process improvement and change initiatives across accounting policies, procedures, and systems, including involvement in system transitions or deployments.
+ **Cross-Functional Partnership:** Serve as the main accounting interface with Enterprise Applications, Payroll, Timekeeping, and Travel & Expense teams, ensuring system and process alignment.
+ **Reconciliation & Review:** Review and approve complex account reconciliations, providing expert guidance to the team to resolve outstanding items and issues.
3. Leadership & Team Development
+ **Inspire and Develop:** Supervise, mentor, and develop a high-performing, results-oriented accounting team, fostering professional growth and active engagement with the business.
+ **Stakeholder Engagement:** Build and maintain effective professional relationships with internal customers, external partners, and senior executive leadership, acting as the financial reporting expert on special projects and ad-hoc analysis.
What You'll Bring: Required Qualifications
+ **Education & Experience:** Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with at least **12+ years** of progressive professional experience in financial reporting and accounting leadership, **OR** a minimum of 20+ years of related experience in lieu of a degree. _A Master’s degree may substitute for 2 years of professional experience._
+ **Certification:** Active CPA license is mandatory.
+ **Technical Mastery:** Advanced knowledge of **US GAAP** , including practical and theoretical application.
+ **Citizenship:** US Citizenship is required.
Highly Desired Qualifications
+ **Government Contracting Expertise:** Experience with **Costpoint** and operating within a **government contracting environment** are significant advantages.
+ **Executive Presence:** Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, written, and verbal communication skills, with the proven ability to interact and provide meaningful, practical guidance to all levels of executive and divisional management.
