_POSITION SUMMARY:_
The Safety and Security Lead is a key member of the Safety & Security Leadership team, this team member will report directly to the Safety & Security Manager, in collaboration with the TACS Division (The TACS team is a focus group that manages the safety, compliance, risk management, and mitigation of Resort Operations). The Safety Officer Lead will sit as the Chair for the Resort Safety Committees, manage all OSHA Compliance, collaborate with internal, and external business partners to create, and execute safety-focused team projects, as well this person will work directly with the Safety & Security Manager in daily operations.
_ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:_
+ Ensures proper execution of assigned duties.
+ Maintains a professional appearance, demeanor, and reputation.
+ Adheres , promotes, and enforces all guest service policies and procedures established within the Big Cedar Lodge Service Standards.
+ Serves as an ambassador to the Big Cedar Resort Services Department, interacts with guests and provides genuine Ozark Hospitality in every interaction.
+ Reviews daily reports, summarizes and submits all activity to the management team.
+ Coordinates and develops safety management program resources and training materials, measuring the success of redesigned programs and other safety projects.
+ Develops and implements accident prevention strategies for safety and injury prevention programs to reduce accidents and casualty related costs.
+ Identifies and analyzes emerging risks, evaluates potentially hazardous conditions/trends and develops solutions to address, develops operations trainings and education to eliminate workplace hazards/exposures, enhances claims management, and overall cost mitigating factors.
+ Creates and implements safety team project timelines, including setting targets and milestones adhering to deadlines, provides clear expectations on projects to other team members and stakeholders.
+ Research and coordinate with key stakeholders all elements of the project, develops action plans, assigns roles and responsibilities to others.
+ Maintains direct and open interaction with leadership, key stakeholders, and risk management team members to make sure all resources needed for the project are available.
+ Tracks all projects to completion timely, having self-accountability to ensure successful project completions.
+ Acts as a liaison and professional resource to operations management for overall risk, claims management, and safety-related matters.
+ Performs Resort Safety Audits to ensure safe working conditions, partners with leaders on any areas of concerns and develops training content to address emerging trends.
+ Manages the process of researching, testing, and deployment of new equipment, designs change implications and operational process changes through consultation with internal departments and outside vendors (e.g. Engineering, Operations, Grounds, Culinary, etc.)
+ Manages all OSHA compliance matters and assists in responding to compliance concerns related to OSHA citations, regulatory hazardous material reporting, and other regulatory matters related to safety and risk control

_EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:_
+ Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
+ Preferred Degree: College Degree
+ Experience: 2 of years in hospitality communications
_KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:_
+ Communicates effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience
+ Basic Computer Skills - Using basic computer hardware and software (e.g., personal computers, word processing software, Internet browsers, etc.)
+ Personnel and Human Resources - Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training and development, compensation and benefits, labor relations and negotiation, and personnel information systems.
+ Law and Government - Knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, agency rules that apply to job (e.g., OSHA, EPA, ADA, CFC, NFPA, ASI).
+ Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, stenography, and transcription, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.
+ Analytical/Critical Thinking - The ability to gather and organize information using a logical and systematic process; recognize patterns and relationships in complex data; examine data to identify implications, problems and draw appropriate conclusions; generate alternative solutions to problems; evaluate strengths, weaknesses and consequences of alternative solutions and approaches to solving problems.
+ Education and Training - Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects.
+ Customer and Personal Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

+ Ability to lift to 50# safely, without assistance.
+ Ability to sit, stand, squat, lift, and or walk for the duration of the scheduled shift (up to 10 hours)
+ Ability to maneuver wilderness terrain without assistance
+ Ability to work outdoors in extreme elements of weather
+ Ability to understand, interpret and execute verbal and written instruction
**_INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT_** :
+ Performs tasks and duties under general supervision, using established procedures and innovation. Chooses from limited alternatives to resolve problems. Occasional independent judgment is required to complete work assignments. Often makes recommendations to work procedures, policies, and practices.
