Compass Point is looking for a motivated and skilled 3D Artist to join our team at Fort Campbell, KY. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, takes ownership of their work, and is always looking for new techniques and/or capabilities to help our team grow. Must be able to work in a fast-paced, highly collaborative team environment that builds three-dimensional (3D) synthetic environments utilized in Special Operations Forces (SOF) simulations and visualizations. The models developed provide virtual operational support to integrated SOF mission planning and rehearsal, during training and exercises, and in real-world combat and contingency environments. The ideal candidate must have the ability to take guidance and direction from team leadership, project leadership, and other Subject Matter Experts and be able to adapt to changes quickly. This position will help develop, enhance, and analyze various forms of digital geographical data, then assemble this data into real-time 3D virtual domains. Responsibilities
+ Work in a section of other like-minded 3D artists to produce photo-realistic cultural, environmental, and mechanical 3D models.
+ Formulate modeling and texturing concepts from photos, CAD drawings, videos, images, and written or verbal information, then develop pathways to render those details into low or high-resolution (poly-count) 3D models.
+ Create high-quality assets (aircraft, vehicles, buildings, textures, and/or other objects) and incorporate those into various 3D formats to support various products (Unity, MetaVR, Common Database (CDB), etc.)
+ Work collaboratively within a cross-disciplinary team of artists, geospatial intelligence specialists (GIS), and software engineers to reach a common goal.
+ Collaborate with other artists to develop and maintain a high-quality asset library (models, materials, etc.)
+ Other duties as required.
Qualifications
+ At least an Associate’s Degree as a 3D Artist or related technical discipline and a minimum of 3 years of professional and relevant experience. Coursework should include the use of 3D tools like Maya & 3D Studio Max. Or, 5 years of related professional and relevant technical experience with no degree. Combination of training, education, experience (including Military service) equivalent to a degree and years of experience may be acceptable. Previous support to a Department of War (DoW) / military program is a plus.
+ Experience building and texturing 3D models using Autodesk Maya, Adobe Photoshop, and Substance Painter.
+ Proficient user of many of the following programs: Autodesk Maya, Presagis Creator, Adobe Photoshop, Unity, Adobe Substance Painter.
+ Must present portfolio of past game-related or real-time modeling experience.
+ Has demonstrated an ability to balance responsibilities among assigned activities; including the ability to manage transitions effectively from task to task, and proven adaptability to varied customer needs.
+ Flexible time management skills that demonstrate the ability to complete projects that range from completion within a few hours, to those that require months to complete.
+ Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret level security clearance is required to maintain employment.
Bonus skills:
+ XR dev, Mudbox, ZBrush, Programming, Simulation, and/or GIS experience.
