Summary/Objective:
Under broad supervision, plans, develops and implements a communications or outreach program, and/or public relations plan for an assigned agency, department, facility, or function. May assist in the managing of projects/campaigns and program plans for social or community outreach. Develops communication materials and presentations in support of Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) programs.
Essential Functions:

1. Performs assigned duties with minimal supervision in support of Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) programs and initiatives.
2. Serves as a subject matter expert and resource on communication strategies related to VR services and outreach.
3. Establishes and maintains positive working relationships with internal staff, external agency partners, and members of the business community to enhance awareness and engagement with VR programs.
4. Develops, produces, and publishes content across multiple platforms, including the agency’s public website, with a focus on timely and accurate communication of VR-related information.
5. Leads the creation and implementation of communication plans specifically designed to promote VR outreach, services, and success stories.
6. Designs, develops, and distributes communication materials, including social media posts, emails, newsletters, announcements, graphics, and other collateral to support VR program visibility and strategic communication goals.
7. Optimizes content on social media platforms and agency web pages to enhance the reach and impact of VR-related messaging.
8. Travels as required, primarily within the state of Georgia, to provide communications support for VR events, outreach activities, and stakeholder engagement efforts.

Preferred Education and Experience:
Intermediate proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Canva required
Proficiency in email marketing required
Experience with WordPress or Drupal preferred

Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers and smartphones.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Working Conditions:
Incumbents working in this job perform duties in an office setting. This is a 40-hour workweek requirement. The position may involve managing a high-volume workload and demands a high level of accuracy while working with deadlines. Regular attendance is an important part of being successful in this position. Reasonable accommodations can be made available to qualified individuals upon request.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. This position occasionally requires long hours and weekend work.
Travel:
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.

High school diploma/GED and five (5) years of experience communications or job-related experience; or one (1) year of experience required at the lower level Communications Spec 2 (GSP041).
