Position Overview:
As the Director of Portfolio Shopper Marketing, you will be the visionary architect and transformative force behind Bayer Consumer Health’s U.S. Shopper Marketing. You will empower the organization to set new standards, redefine boundaries, and unleash the full potential of shopper engagement across all categories, brands, and customers. This is a role for a true change agent—someone ready to own and elevate Shopper Marketing, sitting at the forefront as part of the US Marketing Capabilities lead team, inspiring growth and innovation at every level.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Transform Shopper Marketing & Inspire Team Excellence
+ Lead the Shopper Marketing Work Team with courage and clarity, empowering six customer-specific Shopper Marketing managers to innovate, excel, and evolve. Establish the vision, champion new ways of working, and create robust frames that elevate Shopper Marketing as a strategic catalyst for growth. Cultivate a high-performing, shopper centric team, that sets the benchmark for excellence across the enterprise. Lead the Advantage Unified Commerce (AUC) Omni-Shopper Agency partnership, driving unity and breakthrough results.
+ Set New Standards in Portfolio Shopper Strategy & Scale
+ Define and own a transformative Shopper Marketing strategy that harmonizes brand priorities with emerging customer and channel opportunities. Build scalable, omni-channel shopper platforms—from dynamic seasonal campaigns to health & wellness activations and pioneering digital rewards—that shape the future of the division. Advance scaled portfolio-level strategic partnerships with retailer media networks and digital innovators to maximize impact, efficiency, and consumer conversion.
+ Champion Promotion & Omnichannel Activation
+ Reimagine portfolio promotion strategies, integrating traditional vehicles with cutting-edge omni-channel solutions. Ensure omnichannel shopper activation is not just present but central to customer joint business planning and brand commercial strategy. Advocate for digital-first, personalized, and data-driven shopper engagement, transforming Bayer’s capabilities and market presence.
+ Drive Innovation, Insights & Measurement
+ Transform customer-specific innovation plans, introducing new technologies, platforms, and partnerships that push boundaries and redefine shopper marketing. Set and elevate standards for measurement and ROI, fostering a culture of continuous learning and knowledge-sharing. Transform rich insights into breakthrough strategies and scalable activations that unleash new growth trajectories.
+ Evolve Cross-Functional & Customer Influence
+ Be a catalyst for change across the organization—partnering with Sales, Brand, and Insights & Analytics leadership to ensure Shopper Marketing is a growth engine for the entire portfolio. Represent Bayer as a thought leader in shopper marketing, forging strategic relationships that deliver unprecedented value. Set the pace for internal and external thought leadership on shopper trends, omnichannel behaviors, and future-forward capabilities.

Required Qualifications:
+ BA/BS (MBA preferred)
+ Proven ability to lead cross-functional, customer-facing teams as a force for positive change, driving new standards and best practices.
+ Demonstrated record of delivering enterprise-level Shopper Marketing platforms that spark measurable growth and organizational evolution.
+ Deep expertise in omnichannel shopper activation and retail media, unlocking new potential for brands and customers.
+ Strong financial and strategic acumen to own significant investment portfolios and drive ROI.
+ Exceptional leadership, collaboration, communication, and influencing skills with senior executives, cross-functional peers, and customers.
+ Recognized change agent and thought leader in Shopper Marketing, with the vision to anticipate industry trends and lead organizational transformation.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ 12+ years shaping Shopper Marketing, Customer Marketing, or Brand Marketing in CPG, including at least 5 years in transformative leadership roles preferred
Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $174339.88 - 261509.82. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc.. This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant’s location, market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
