The Role: Accounting Manager

We’re seeking an **experienced, hands-on Accounting Manager** with a background in **small to mid-sized businesses** and a strong track record in **both day-to-day accounting and team leadership** . This is a highly visible role reporting directly to the VP of Finance, perfect for someone who enjoys working across all levels of the company — from the shop floor to the C-suite.

What You’ll Do

+ Oversee **A/P, A/R, Payroll** , and general ledger activities

+ Manage **month-end and year-end close** with accurate and timely reporting

+ Lead and mentor a small accounting team (A/R clerks, A/P, staff accountant)

+ Support **cost accounting** and analyze manufacturing inventory/production variances

+ Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and manage cash flow

+ Ensure compliance with **GAAP** and internal controls

+ Drive **process improvements** and increase efficiency

+ Coordinate with external auditors and support annual audit processes

+ Work closely with **operations, plant management, and leadership** on cross-functional financial initiatives

Who You Are

+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required)

+ **5+ years of accounting experience** , with **2+ years in a leadership role**

+ Proven success in a **hands-on role** — you’re comfortable rolling up your sleeves

+ Experience working in a **small to mid-sized company** , preferably manufacturing

+ Strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory, and ERP systems (Syteline a plus)

+ Syteline ERP system experience or similar ERP experience and proficiency in Microsoft Excel

+ Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills

+ Able to work **fully on-site** , with occasional Saturday coverage (every 6-7 weeks from 7:00a-11:00a)
