This role functions as an Automation Engineer within the Minnesota-Metals ME team, supporting and participating in the design, testing, modification, fabrication, and assembly of manufacturing tools and electromechanical systems. This includes automated components such as collaborative robots, conveyors, vision systems, and programmable controllers. The role is responsible for troubleshooting, process control, control systems design, and robotics as part of cost savings and quality improvement efforts for the TE Connectivity manufacturing facility in **Plymouth, MN**

Job Requirements
+ Expert in robotic and automation development.
+ Supports the manufacturing engineering team with a focus on implementation and integration, relating to robotics and automation applied to development and production.
+ Design, create, modify and validate automated equipment integration to meet internal and external customer requirements.
+ Program PLCs, HMI, Robots, Servomotors and Machine Vision Systems for new machine builds according to customer requirements for new and existing equipment to reduce downtimes, improve quality or reduce manufacturing cycle time.
+ Ensure control systems comply with TE safety standards and regulatory requirements.
+ Document schematics of new and modified automated machines built.
+ Supports cross-functional groups in the development and implementation of automated systems in support of manufacturing.
+ Test automations software function and review for improvements in cost and machine run times.
+ Create and / or modify existing end of tooling and automation equipment. • Implement capital automation projects using industry best practices business processes.
+ Support the scope, deliverables, schedule, and project team for capital expenditure (CapEx) of automation projects.
+ Participate in the development and implementation of new processes and systems.
+ Identify and oversee system integrations.
+ Coordinate/support engineering and automation design, commissioning, qualification, and the QA Validation groups as appropriate.
+ Proactively look for and recommend improvements in site processes and procedures.
+ Represent the Manufacturing Engineering team as an expert on Automation with good communication and presentation skills.
+ Provide status reports on Automation Projects to Management as required. • Work with teams to plan & collect data for problem solving or process improvements.
+ Process development, implementation and documentation, tools, and equipment.
+ Assist in standard engineering tests and experiments with attention to detail.
+ Assist in writing and documenting process instructions.
+ Create/Improve manufacturing processes and process documentation.
+ Coordinate with different functional groups as required.
+ Train Engineers, operators and manufacturing technicians on new process machine operation
What your background should look like
+ Bachelor of Science, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace, Robotics, Mechanical, or Biomedical Engineering or related field or equivalent technical training plus 5+years related experience working on various automation systems, required
+ Strong proficiency in PLC programming, HMI, Robots, Servomotors and Machine Vision Systems required.
+ Robotic programming and 3D CAD experience, required
+ Laser welding/cutting experience, preferred
+ Ability to work with minimal direct supervision: meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, provide recommendations and effectively communicate updates.
+ Experienced with communicating with Management as well as providing direction support for multiple projects simultaneously.
+ Must be very organized and possess strong verbal and written communications skills. • Must be proficient with Internet navigation, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, Teams, Sharepoint), Adobe Acrobat
+ Should be flexible to working outside the core business hours (occasionally on short notice, and a limited basis) as needed.
+ Proven ability to manage multiple and fast-moving priorities.
+ Ability to work well in a fast-paced collaborative team environment within a rapidly evolving business environment.
+ Skilled at solving multi-dimensional problems with both quantitative and qualitative variables.
+ Ability to lead and influence others in support of company objectives.

COMPENSATION
• Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $102,500 -153,800(subject to change dependent on physical location)
• Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
• Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
