    Description:

    Unit Tech/Clerk works in a collaborative environment to deliver excellent patient care under the direction of a RN. A Unit Tech/Clerk is expected to assist the patient in maintaining good hygiene, activities of daily living and to support quality of patient care.

    Status:

    + **Part Time**

    + **12 hours per week**

    + **Nights, 7p-7a**

    What you will need:

    + **H** igh School Graduate or equivalent.

    + Current BLS certification.

    + Registered Nurse Aide (CENA) in the State of MI OR current enrollment in an accredited nursing program with successful completion of a nursing fundamentals course. Must provide evidence of current nursing program enrollment on an annual basis.

    + Additional certifications considered: EMT/Medical First Responder, Medical Assistant, LPN.

    + Equivalent work experience and/or equivalent training may also be considered.

    What you will do:

    + **D** emonstrates ability to care for the needs of patients in the department.

    + Assists with personal hygiene as appropriate.

    + Measures and records all patient intake.

    + Collects urine, sputum and stool specimens and properly labels patient specimens.

    + Measures vital signs and documents appropriately

    + Demonstrates proper infection control measures.

    + Perform specialty procedures as assigned: wound care, simple splinting, EKG’s, etc.
