We are hiring for an Entry-Level Lab Technician here in the Columbus, Ohio area! This is a long-term career opportunity for somebody looking to grow their career in the sciences. We have openings both on the Quality and the R&D team depending on experience.
We are open to multiple areas of experience for this role, including the following:
+ Entry level Bachelors Degree in a scientific field
+ Associates Degree in a scientific field (depending on specific coursework and/or additional experience)
+ High School Diploma/GED IF you have experience performing similar laboratory testing in another role (relevant experience is a must in this case).
Job Description
The Lab Technician will be performing Quality or R&D testing on paint and coating products. Most testing will be basic wet chemistry testing.
Responsibilities
Some specific responsibilities apply only to the Quality or Research & Development departments, so specifics may vary.
+ Follow batch tickets and ensure they are weighed and measured accurately.
+ Perform testing including viscosity, pH, weight per unit of gallon, flow, gloss, color characteristics (compared with standards), and various other similar tests.
+ Putting together formulas and processing them, preparing wet samples and applying them on lab metal and baking them out and testing those properties.
+ Conduct tests on materials from suppliers and batches from production.
+ Perform standard testing procedures, including preparation of materials, with attention to detail and high quality.
+ Follow daily work plan for Lab Work Request or project plan.
+ Accurately document work in lab notebooks, either physical or electronic.
+ Ensure raw materials are available and correctly labeled.
+ Correctly label and mail samples.
+ Tint batches.
+ Calculate resin composites.
Qualifications:
Candidates may come from one of the following backgrounds:
+ Bachelors Degree in a scientific field
+ Associates Degree in a scientific field depending on laboratory coursework and/or additional experience
+ Would consider someone non-degreed if you have experience utilizing similar laboratory techniques.
+ Must not be color blind.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.25 - $25.25/hr.
