In this fully remote role, you’ll lead the physical design of high-voltage substations that keep the grid running safely and efficiently. What You’ll Do

+ Design and deliver complete substation physical design packages—from general arrangements to grounding and conduit plans.

+ Specify high-voltage equipment including circuit breakers, transformers, disconnect switches, and more.

+ Perform critical engineering calculations for bus sizing, grounding, lightning protection, and thermal ratings.

+ Lead and mentor Technicians, Designers, and Staff Engineers.

+ Collaborate across disciplines—civil, structural, protection & control, SCADA—to ensure seamless integration.

+ Support construction with site visits, design clarifications, and conflict resolution.

+ Contribute to project budgeting, billing, and proposal development.

+ Engage with clients and support business development initiatives.

+ Strong technical expertise in substation layout and equipment specification.

+ Proficiency in physical design and electrical engineering principles.

+ Experience managing project schedules, budgets, and deliverables.

+ Leadership and mentorship skills to guide junior engineers.

+ Familiarity with proposal development and client engagement.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $80.00/hr.
