    Job Title: Mechanical EngineerJob Description

     

    This role involves the meticulous gathering and documentation of tariff information for aluminum, steel, and copper parts on machines. The role requires the interpretation of part and assembly drawings, as well as multi-level Bills of Material (BOMs), and effective data management primarily organized in Excel. You will be tasked with disassembling machines to physically identify aluminum, steel, and copper parts, using BOMs and drawings as reference points. Upon identifying components, you will organize the value and country of origin of these components in Excel.

    Responsibilities

    + Review SAP and examine material callouts on drawings and assembly drawings to identify metal parts.

    + Physically identify aluminum, metal, and copper parts on each machine, including screws, hoses, and clamps.

    + Make informed assumptions regarding the value of metals in parts based on part weight and metal or alloy.

    + Determine the value of metals, which includes contacting vendors via email or phone to collect data on parts such as weight, value, and country of origin of raw metal material.

    + Conduct part, machine, and equipment tear-downs.

    + Aggregate totals by part or assembly for value assessment.

    + Document data primarily in Excel using pivot tables, macros, complex formulas, and data analysis, as well as in SAP.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience in manufacturing engineering and mechanical engineering.

    + Strong troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude.

    + Ability to read and interpret technical part and assembly drawings, potentially using CAD in exploded or isometric views.

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, macros, complex formulas, and data analysis.

    + Experience with SAP.

     

    "Nice to have" Skills

     

    + Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or Manufacturing.

    + Ability to disassemble and reassemble equipment and machines, identifying steel, aluminum, and copper parts.

     

    Work Environment

     

    Core working hours are from 9 AM to 2:30 PM

     

    + Flexibility to start between 6 AM and 9 AM

    + 40-hour workweek is expected.

     

    The role offers six paid holidays and the opportunity to directly impact a large organization by contributing to tariff response plans, achieving significant cost savings and risk mitigation.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
