    Job Title: Compounding Technician Job Description

     

    We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Compounding Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately measuring and mixing ingredients according to specific formulations, ensuring quality and consistency in all products.

    Responsibilities

    + Accurately measure and mix ingredients according to specific formulations and recipes.

    + Perform precise weighing and calculations to ensure correct ingredient proportions.

    + Follow batch cards meticulously to prepare batches according to specifications.

    + Operate and maintain compounding equipment and machinery.

    + Conduct product inspections to ensure all products meet quality and safety standards.

    + Provide samples for quality control testing for the lab.

    + Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

    + Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.

    + Document all processes and maintain accurate records of batches.

    + Collaborate with quality control and production teams to ensure consistency and quality of products.

    + Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during the compounding process.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience in compounding, GMP, mixing, and batch making.

    + Knowledge of production processes, weighing, distillation, chemical handling, and laboratory practices.

    + Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

    + Ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures.

    + Good communication and teamwork skills.

    + Basic computer skills for record-keeping and documentation.

    + Ability to lift and move heavy ingredients and equipment as needed.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in food science or a related field is a plus.

    + Previous experience in a compounding or manufacturing environment, preferably in the food and beverage industry.

    + Value a positive attitude, hard work, and willingness to learn.

    Work Environment

    The work environment is a manufacturing type setting where you'll wear a provided uniform. During summer months, shorts are permissible due to heat. The culture is that of a family-owned company, valuing a 'work hard, play hard' ethic with straightforward communication. You'll work independently with significant attention to detail, handling expensive ingredients and performing various calculations for product specifications. Social events like Barbeque week and Bagel/Pizza parties foster a positive work culture.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Abingdon, Maryland.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
