Job Title: Supplier Quality Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Supplier Quality Engineer to join our team. This role involves conducting supplier site visits and quality audits to ensure compliance and continuous improvement. You will coordinate with various departments to support inspection processes and launch activities for new products.
Responsibilities
+ Conduct supplier site visits and quality audits to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
+ Coordinate with Engineering, Purchasing, and the Quality Lab to support inspection processes and launch activities for new products.
+ Participate in strategic quality initiatives and contribute to broader supplier development efforts.
+ Investigate and document supplier nonconformances using the IR System.
+ Coordinate on-site containment and sorting activities for supplier-related quality issues.
+ Manage returns of nonconforming products in collaboration with Purchasing and suppliers.
+ Lead and support quality improvement projects with suppliers to reduce PPM, warranty claims, and production rejects.
+ Issue, review, and validate corrective actions from suppliers, including onsite verification.
+ Assist the Sr. Supplier Quality Engineer with DPAR activity and new product development quality planning.
+ Support Quality Lab by interpreting drawings, defining inspection criteria, and applying gauging methodologies.
+ Review and provide feedback on casting defects to improve supplier processes.
Essential Skills
+ A four-year technical degree is preferred
+ Two to five years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment.
+ Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings.
+ Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office.
+ Strong written and oral communication skills.
+ Good organizational and problem-solving abilities.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Knowledge of aluminum die cast processes is preferred.
Work Environment
The work environment involves collaboration with various departments such as Engineering, Purchasing, and the Quality Lab. The role requires site visits, which may involve working in different manufacturing settings. A professional dress code is maintained during site visits and audits.
Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Morristown, Tennessee.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $80000.00/yr.
