Job Title: CNC Programmer
Job Description
The CNC Programmer manages daily tasks and assignments for all CNC Programming. This role involves creating numerically controlled programs to control contour path machining of plastic parts on automatic machine tools. The position includes correcting and improving existing CNC programs to meet quality and efficiency targets, as well as assisting with new project development. Additional related duties may be required to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.
Responsibilities
+ Work closely with the Heavy Gauge Project Manager, Production Planning, and Department Manager to prioritize CNC programming assignments and tasks, communicating work schedule and status for CNC Programming staff.
+ Establish and communicate programming task timelines and status to the Heavy Gauge Project Manager and Department Manager.
+ Collaborate with Engineering to develop strategies for trim fixture design and construction, and participate in meetings regarding tooling activities and design evaluation.
+ Assist the Department Manager in planning for work center upgrades and retrofits.
+ Recommend software upgrades for programming and post-processing needs.
+ Evaluate current equipment, fixtures, and processes to identify and implement changes to improve efficiency and profitability.
+ Analyze drawings, sketches, and design data to determine the dimension and configuration of cuts, and select appropriate cutting tools, machine speeds, and feed rates.
+ Interpret geometric dimensioning and tolerances (GDT) and compute angular and linear dimensions, radii, and curvatures.
+ Outline the sequence of operations required to machine parts, and observe the operation of machines to ensure programmed instructions are accurate.
+ Perform part inspections using common measuring tools such as tape measures, micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators.
+ Perform all work procedures in accordance with safety and Quality Management System standards (TS-/ISO9001/ISO).
Essential Skills
+ 3 years CNC programming experience or 3+ years trade school diploma.
+ Proficiency in 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred) and MasterCam CAM.
+ Experience with 5-axis programming.
+ CNC Programmer Certification.
+ Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
+ Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
+ Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or managers and employees.
+ Strong mathematical skills including plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
+ Ability to solve practical problems and interpret various instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Familiarity with MS Office and Outlook.
+ Experience with electrical troubleshooting, maintenance, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical repair.
+ Proficiency in blueprint, schematic, and PLC troubleshooting.
+ Knowledge of machine tool/cutter design is a plus.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $33.00/hr.
