Job Title: Machine Operator

Job Description

As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for keeping the machinery and equipment running safely and efficiently. Your role will involve ensuring that efficiencies, run speeds, and downtime remain within specified limits while assisting with troubleshooting and adjustments during runs. You will also be responsible for maintaining a neat and hazard-free work area, prepping, staging, and maintaining rolls for jobs, and reading and understanding job tickets and sheeting schedules.

Responsibilities

+ Keep machines and equipment operating safely and efficiently.

+ Ensure efficiencies, run speeds, and downtime are within specified limits.

+ Assist with troubleshooting and adjustments during machine runs.

+ Maintain a clean and hazard-free work area.

+ Prep, stage, and maintain rolls for jobs.

+ Read and understand job tickets and sheeting schedules.

+ Contact a supervisor when quality standards cannot be met.

+ Set up and run jobs effectively and efficiently.

+ Assist in the printing/sheeting department as needed.

+ Follow verbal and written instructions and communicate effectively through shift transitions.

+ Perform preventive maintenance, change belts, blades, and troubleshoot problems.

+ Learn to troubleshoot issues and perform preventive maintenance as needed.

+ Recycle all paper and cardboard by placing them in their proper containers.

Essential Skills

+ Experience working as a machine operator.

+ Safety consciousness.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Comfortable standing for the duration of the shift.

+ Ability to lift and move 50 lbs.

Work Environment

The role is based in a machine shop that is not temperature-controlled. The dress code is casual, but steel toes are not required, and shorts are not permitted during summer. The working hours are 7:00 am to 3:30 pm from Monday to Friday, with a break from 10:00 to 10:15 am and lunch from 12:00 to 12:40 pm. The shop has a small team of about 10 employees.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Malvern, Pennsylvania.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
