Position Purpose
TAIT Crew members travel the world to set up, operate, and tear down the concert touring productions that TAIT is famous for. As customer-facing technical representatives, we embrace every challenge that touring presents, ensuring seamless execution to create moments that move people—night after night. There are many skills on the team, but primarily we focus on entertainment automation, performer-flying rigging, and touring carpentry.
We are looking for people to join the team who bring not only technical excellence, but also the mindset and resilience required for life on tour. Ideal candidates are team-oriented problem solvers who thrive under pressure, adapt quickly to change, and embrace the physical and mental demands of the road. They understand that touring is a team sport - requiring trust, hustle, and a deep commitment to collaboration and safety.
We’re looking for entry-level candidates who bring at least one year of touring experience and a curiosity about automation systems. Every new team member will complete a five-week training program in Lititz, where they’ll gain the technical expertise and confidence to hit the road ready.
Essential Responsibilities & Accountabilities
• Loading and unloading trucks
• Setting up and tearing down automation and/or staging gear
• Perform show track duties as assigned, which may include but not limited to calling clears, moving scenery/props, spotting automation equipment, and ensuring artist safety backstage
• Communicate basic technical information with other team members and local stagehands
• Lead local labor
• Assist with executing a cable plan
• Connect nav hoists and other assets
• Perform basic electrical tasks
• Possess a theoretical/basic understanding of TAIT automation systems
• Focus on developing fundamental touring and technical skills, performing basic tasks under supervision
• Demonstrate a team-first attitude and contribute to a positive touring culture
• Maintain a professional demeanor while representing TAIT on and off the job site
• Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures
• Attend meetings, seminars, and training sessions as required
• Perform assigned duties according to the policies and expectations prescribed by the company

Minimum Qualifications
To perform the essential responsibilities, individuals must have the following level of education and experience, or equivalent combination. Additionally, the following certifications, knowledge, skills, or physical requirements are necessary for the position.
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years of technical entertainment experience
• 1+ years of touring experience
• Travel Expectations
• Must have a US passport and a clean record to be able to travel internationally for work
• Valid driver’s license
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is required to frequently walk, bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat, stoop, and kneel each day. Specific requirements are:
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, at least 12 hours or more
• Must be able to lift or move at least 30 lbs. or more
• Must be able to carry at least 30 lbs. or more
• Must be able to pull or push at least 50 lbs. or more
• Must be able to work outside of standard office business hours including extended time frames
• Must be able to work in outdoor environments with changing weather conditions
Work Conditions of the Role
• Work conditions may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements such as dirt, dust, fumes, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises
• Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks which require following basic safety precautions
• Must be able to work and live in close quarters with others during the extent of tours and gigs
• Must be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to work within or visit areas where required. This includes, safety glasses, reflective vest, ear plugs, safety toed shoes, and other PPE as required by the location
• Ability to work in “entertainment conditions” including a wide variety of working places such as shops, dark backstages, catwalks at height, construction areas, and cruise ships
• Willingness to work at heights preferred
