Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is seeking a dedicated Sr. Principal Mission Assurance Engineer who brings mission system leadership, engineering, and proposal experience to a growth-oriented organization to join our team in Sykesville, MD.
What You'll Get to Do:
A **Sr. Principal Mission Assurance Engineer** supports a Program or Programs with responsibility for the overall program quality over the lifecycle of the program. The Program Quality Engineer’s primary responsibilities across this lifecycle include, but are not limited to:
+ Developing and Supporting Program proposal activities.
+ Developing, implementing and maintaining the Program Quality Plan.
+ Planning/establishing the baseline for the Program quality scope.
+ Interpreting customer contractual requirements to ensure these requirements are integrated into program plans, specifications and product drawings.
+ Collaborating cross functionally to support the execution of the Program’s procurement, manufacturing, and test plans.
+ Ensuring Risk Management activities (including Design/Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis dFMEA/pFMEA) are executed according to standards and procedures.
+ Analyzing, interpreting and presenting key process indicator trends for manufacturing performance.
+ Maintaining Program Quality Earned Value Management as a Control Account Manager.
+ Analyzing, interpreting and presenting key process indicator trends for manufacturing performance.
+ Establishing good working relationships with the customer and government representatives to facilitate demonstration of conformance to requirements of the finished work products.
+ Leading and/or supporting Continuous Improvement (CI) activities.
+ Auditing quality systems to ensure compliance with the contract, the organization, and industry requirements.
+ Performing Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) analysis, and Problem-Solving activities on program-specific, quality system and business system deficiencies.
Basic Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's of Science Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) related field with a minimum of 8 years of Quality or Engineering experience; OR a Masters with a minimum of 6 years of Quality or Engineering experience.
+ Experience with reading engineering documentation (drawings, models, specs), interpreting drawing dimensions, features, and parts lists, and identifying critical features.
+ Experience with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
+ Experience working with multiple enterprise-wide systems.
+ Experienced in SAP, ISE and CADSTAR or MPLM.
+ Experience with Root Cause and Corrective Action tools, such as Ishikawa, FMEA, 5 Why, etc.
+ Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance
+ US Citizenship
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Active Secret Security Clearance.
+ Experience with ISO9001 or AS9100 Quality Management System and AS9102 First Article Inspections (FAI).
+ Experience writing proposals and quoting Quality hours in bids.
+ Experience with Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) techniques and associated problem solving tools.
+ Experience with the Material Review Board (MRB) process.
+ Experience working in and leading cross-functional teams to resolve problems or issues.
+ Experience collecting, analyzing, and presenting quality metrics and associated trends.
+ Experience with Earned Value Management as a Control Account Manager.
+ Experience working with electrical or mechanical design requirements and specifications (IPC, J-STD, MIL-STD).
+ Accredited certification in Quality and/or Mission Assurance field (i.e. ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, IPC-A-610 Certified IPC Specialist (CIS), MIL-STD-883 Certified, Green/Black Belt Certified in Lean Six Sigma).
Primary Level Salary Range: $131,100.00 - $196,700.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
