Essential Duties andResponsibilities:
+ Follows through withIEP objectives including math, reading, speech, independent skills, andmanaging behavioral deficits and excesses, one on one or as a general classroomaide
+ Facilitatesteacher-directed learning activities including lesson plans, worksheets,reinforcement systems, small groups, social games, and work assistance
+ Assists studentswhen included in general education classes
+ Communicatespertinent information to teachers
+ Accompanies studentsduring recess and lunch periods, along with community experiences
+ Strictly adheres toconfidentiality requirements regarding all matters pertaining to students,parents, parent communications, and/or classroom activities. (Note: Unlessinstructed otherwise by supervising teacher, all parent communication is theresponsibility of certified personnel)
+ Assists withactivities of prescribed programs including those written by related servicepersonnel such as PT, OT and SLP
+ Assists students inthe development of independent skills through self-care activities such astoileting, clothing routines, feeding and personal hygiene
+ May be asked toassist in behavior management techniques at the direction of the teacher and/orother school professional (i.e. BCBA, Psychologist, etc.)
+ Assists teacher withclerical duties including making stimuli, making copies, maintaining a cleanand organized classroom, preparing materials, and assignment scoring
+ Assists withtransfers and ambulation
+ Appropriatelyreports changes in client status or as directed by IHP/IEP
Minimum Requirements:
+ High School diploma or equivalent required
+ Two (2) years of pediatric experience preferred
+ Current CPR if applicable
+ TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
+ Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
+ Must be at least 18 years of age
