Job Description

A client in the Nashville, TN area is seeking a Technical Business Analyst (BA) to support a high-profile initiative focused on expanding the distribution of Separately Managed Accounts (SMAs) within U.S. retail and private wealth channels. This is a mission-critical, revenue-generating project with strong executive backing and significant visibility across the organization. The core objective is to enhance client engagement by building a centralized digital enhancements for financial advisors at external firms enabling them to open accounts, monitor performance, build sample portfolios, and conduct transition analysis, all within a single platform. The tool is already live and in active development, with ongoing feature enhancements in a microservices-based architecture using JavaScript, SQL, C#, and .NET.

The ideal candidate will bring 5–7 years of mid-to-senior level BA experience, with a proven ability to gather and translate business and technical requirements into actionable deliverables for engineering teams. You’ll work closely with the hiring manager, internal stakeholders, and technical partners, acting as a liaison between business and technology. A strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies is essential, including participation in ceremonies and the ability to provide professional pushback in a highly intelligent, fast-paced environment. Experience with backend API requirements, SQL-based data validation, and edge case scenario planning is highly desirable. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills are a must.

This is a task-oriented role with high visibility and impact. Candidates should ideally be based in Nashville, TN, with the ability to work onsite 3–4 days per week.

Skills and Requirements

-5–7 years of Business Analyst experience (mid to senior level)

-Proven ability to gather and translate business and technical requirements into developer-ready documentation

-Experience working in a Scrum/Agile environment, including participation in scrum ceremonies

-Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

-Ability to professionally negotiate and collaborate with highly opinionated, intelligent teams

-Experience gathering requirements for backend APIs

-Ability to perform data validation using SQL (understanding how to query and interpret results)

-Ideally based in Nashville, TN, with ability to work onsite 3–4 days per week

-Strong examples of translating business requirements into technical deliverables - Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a technology-related field
