    The role you'll contribute:

    The Data Coordinator reports to the Professional Development Coordinator and is responsible for coordination of data related to hospital metrics as well as all aspects of data collection related to the journey to Magnet excellence. This position carries out critical program activities which include data preparation and analysis to support quality initiatives; program process improvement; metrics for Magnet recognition; regulatory and accreditation requirements; and nursing research. This includes, but is not limited to, the design and implementation of computerized data collection systems, data trending, and analysis. The production and analysis of reports includes high level expertise in Microsoft Access, Excel, Power Point, and statistical software for Nursing and Patient Care Services, including data entry. The Data Analyst must understand aberrancy in the data and the ability to assist managers with data analysis and interpretation. The Data Coordinator is the site coordinator for the National Database of Nursing Quality Indicators and responsible for assuring accurate data entry to the web site. This includes report generation from other data bases to obtain detailed information for data entry. This position is exposed to confidential operational and budgetary information. The Data Coordinator has access to this information on a regular basis, and this access is necessary to job performance. This information must be kept strictly confidential.

    Synthesizes and trends Magnet recognition data.

     

    Coordinates with other departments on data collection elements.

     

    Other duties as assigned.

     

    Reads and interprets quality reports to correctly abstract clinical data.

     

    Enters data into electronic platforms and performs reconciliation and data submissions to external organizations.

     

    Communicates abstracted findings to leadership.

     

    Participates in Performance Improvement activities.

     

    Ensures quarterly data entry into the NDNQI database.

     

    Creates databases to streamline information.

     

    Collects and presents data using charts and graphs.

     

    Develops and supports necessary databases and reports.

     

    Manages unit lists within the NDNQI database.

     

    Disseminates and interprets quarterly reports.

    Qualifications

    The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed** **:

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

    Associate Required

    Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

    Bachelor's Preferred
