Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive and relationship-driven **Joint Trench Program Manager** to lead the development and execution of our greenfield fiber expansion strategy across Texas. This field-based role is critical to identifying new residential and MDU developments early in the planning cycle and securing joint trenching opportunities that accelerate deployment and maximize customer growth.
You’ll serve as the primary liaison between developers, city officials, contractors, utilities, and internal teams—ensuring seamless coordination and strategic alignment from preconstruction through buildout.
Key Responsibilities
+ Build and maintain strong relationships with developers, contractors, and municipal planning departments
+ Scout and qualify greenfield developments using permitting activity, local intelligence, and direct outreach
+ Secure joint trench participation by aligning construction schedules and conduit delivery
+ Represent the company at preconstruction meetings, site visits, and planning sessions
+ Coordinate with internal teams including Engineering, Sales, MDU, and Business-As-Usual (BAU) groups
+ Maintain centralized tracking of development opportunities, site plans, timelines, and stakeholder contacts
+ Support permit acquisition and workprint reviews
+ Participate in weekly triage and status meetings to align cross-functional teams
+ Monitor development trends to inform long-term fiber strategy and investment decisions
Qualifications
Required:
+ 3+ years of experience in land development, telecom, utilities, construction coordination, or municipal planning
+ Strong understanding of fiber deployment, subdivision development cycles, and joint trenching practices
+ Proven ability to work independently in the field and manage multiple projects
+ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Teams, Outlook, and SharePoint
+ Willingness to travel frequently across Texas
Preferred:
+ Direct experience engaging with residential developers and builders
+ Familiarity with permitting processes and utility coordination
+ Experience in telecom infrastructure or fiber network deployment
Why This Role Matters
This role is central to our fiber expansion strategy in Texas. By engaging early in the development cycle, the **Joint Trench Program Manager** ensures we are first to trench and first to serve—accelerating time-to-market, reducing construction costs, and driving significant customer growth in high-opportunity markets.
