    Job description

    SUMMARY OF JOB PURPOSE

    Responsible for executing all SafranHE logistics-related functions supporting the UH-72 Lakota light utility helicopter (LUH) fleet at Fort Rucker, AL, including data extraction and analysis, order fulfillment, inventory management, forecasting, replenishment, shipping, and receiving.

     

    2.0 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Support customer requirements with an emphasis on outstanding customer satisfaction

    • Receive, validate and fulfill customer parts request orders for the Fort Rucker LUH fleet

    • Accurately process and deliver orders

    • Produce, consolidate, and report logistic metrics to site manager, as required

    • Extract and analyze programmatic data to meet contractual metrics

    • Coordinate Fort Rucker logistics efforts with overall LUH program efforts of SafranHE

    • Issue, receive, and coordinate the repair of Government Property (GP) in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FARs) and company policies

    • Performs day-to-day Government Property transactions, as directed and approved by the Government Property Manager

    • Establish and maintain Min/Max stock levels and recommend changes based on historical usage and forecasting

    • Ensures the processing of inventory and picking procedures are accomplished accurately

    • Create, update, and optimize bin locations for maximum efficiency (picking) and inventory control

    • Perform cycle counts, as required

    • Maintains appropriate files and records, as per company policy.

    • Ensures accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments; verifies information against bills of lading, invoices, orders and other records.

    • Create and process sales orders, repair sales orders, and transfer orders in SAP, as required

    • Properly dispose of scrap parts

    • Package parts for storage or shipment; including Dangerous Goods (DG)

    • Track, request and receive required core return parts from customer

    • Requires infrequent travel

    • Requires on-call duty

    • Requires weekend work

    SCOPE AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

    • No supervisory or budget responsibilities

    • Follows prescribed processes and procedures

    • Develop new procedures, identify problems and recommend solutions to fulfill program objectives

    • Divulging of confidential and/or sensitive information could lead to lawsuits

    • Errors may lead to high risk of major damage to the organization

    • Authority to conduct work with US government ITAR/EAR controlled information

    • Authority to act with site manager approval

    Constant communication with SafranHE CSRs and Material Management team

    • Produce, manage, control, and retain documents, as per appropriate polices

     

    Candidate skills & requirements

    REQUIRED COMPETENCIES – Education / Knowledge / Skills and Abilities

    • Associate's Degree or higher and/or 3 years of experience in logistics, supply chain or business management required

    • Thorough knowledge of logistics and supply chain functions with an Associate's Degree in logistics, supply chain or business management and/or 5 year of logistics, supply chain, and/or business management experience desired

    • Extensive knowledge of SAP operations desired; Minimum of 1 year SAP experience desired

    • Intermediate level experience with Microsoft Office suite required; to include MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint; Good keyboarding skills required; comprehensive knowledge of MS Excel desired

    • Ability and desire to learn new software programs

    • Able to work independently, with minimal guidance

    • Current DOT HazMat (Hazardous Materials) Transportation Certification; or able to obtain

    • Current Forklift certification; or able to obtain

    • Strong written and oral communication skills

    • FEDEX shipping station and software use

    • Must be able to pass background investigation and obtain access to controlled, government facility

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand and walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to balance and stoop, kneel, or crouch.

    • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee will frequently have to move items up to several hundred pounds utilizing appropriate warehouse support equipment.

    • The noise level in the work environment will vary from quiet to moderate.
