We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Systems Engineer to join our VEV Test Automation Systems Team. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in developing, implementing, and optimizing automated test methodologies within our powertrain development and calibration processes. This position offers the opportunity to drive efficiency, improve data quality, and directly contribute to meeting critical performance, emissions, and fuel economy targets for both current and future automotive powertrains.
Systems Engineer - Powertrain Test Automation (CAMEO Specialist)
**About the Team:** The Vehicle Evaluation and Verification (VEV) team plays a critical role in ensuring the performance and reliability of our next-generation vehicles. We are responsible for rigorous testing of vehicle powertrains and their subsystems to meet stringent engineering requirements. The VEV Test Automation Systems Team is at the forefront of this effort, driving innovation in how we validate and verify powertrain designs. + Lead Test Automation Development: Drive the implementation of advanced test methods within CAMEO to automate powertrain testing, ensuring highly repeatable, efficient, and high-quality data acquisition in our dynamometer (dyno) labs.
+ CAMEO Expertise & Guidance: Serve as a subject matter expert for CAMEO, providing comprehensive guidance, training, and support to functional engineering partners on its effective utilization for Design of Experiments (DoE), mapping, and calibration optimization.
+ Test Governance: Oversee and manage the integrity of tests, test sequences, and underlying code within CAMEO, establishing and enforcing best practices to guarantee consistent and high-quality test results.
+ Process Improvement: Proactively identify, analyze, and implement opportunities for operational efficiency enhancements within powertrain testing workflows.
+ Methodology Innovation: Develop and refine cutting-edge test methodologies that enhance data quality, reduce test cycle times, and improve overall testing efficiency.
+ Regulatory Compliance Support: Contribute to the development and adaptation of test sequences and methods necessary to meet evolving global emissions and fuel economy regulations.

You'll have...
+ Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
+ 3+ years of professional experience in powertrain calibration, development, and testing within the automotive industry.
+ Advanced proficiency with CAMEO test automation software, specifically in its application for Design of Experiments (DoE), mapping, and calibration optimization.
+ Demonstrated understanding of validation and verification test sequences, DoE principles, and test methodologies relevant to powertrain strategy development and calibration.

+ Solid understanding of powertrain calibration parameters and their application for optimizing engine performance in both gasoline and diesel engines.
+ In-depth knowledge of internal combustion engine (ICE) principles and operation.
+ Familiarity with the hardware, instrumentation, and measurement equipment commonly used in engine and powertrain testing facilities (e.g., dynamometers, emissions benches).
+ Experience with other automotive test automation tools (e.g., PUMA, ETAS INCA, ATI Vision).
+ Demonstrated experience in data analysis and interpretation from powertrain testing.
+ Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving technical challenges.
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
