F135 engine instructors provide propulsion knowledge and skill training to operators of the F-35 aircraft. Working at the Academic Training Center on Eglin AFB, FL, instructors provide critical engine construction and operation information as well as significant hands-on training to ensure graduates can maintain their respective assets. Additionally, F135 instructors sustain the F-35 propulsion training courseware and devices through physical visits to various training locations, both domestic and international.
What You Will Do:
+ Deliver propulsion system curriculum in academic and laboratory environments on engine description and theory of operation, engine inspection, and unit level sustainment emphasizing safety and aviation maintenance program compliance and other duties as needed.
+ Apply knowledge of Export Administration Regulations and International Traffic in Arms Regulations in determining controlled information export to international customers maintaining all export records in a continuously auditable condition.
+ Conduct periodic reviews of curriculum and course materials documenting areas of obsolescence and inaccuracies for action by the curriculum development group.
+ Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on training engines, training mock-ups, support equipment and hand tools at Eglin AFB, and conduct periodic on-site assessments of remote training sites at various domestic and international locations.
+ International and domestic travel is approximately 20%.
Qualifications You Must Have:
+ Bachelor’s degree in related field or, associate’s degree or two years of post-high school training and a minimum of 9 years of prior jet engine experience, with four years of specific F135 experience in teaching, flight-line, back-shop, depot operations, Field Service Engineer, or Customer Service Engineer.
+ U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information for this program.
+ The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued secret security clearance is required.
Qualifications We Prefer:
+ Advanced degree or training certification in a related field.
+ Military instructor experience (NEC 9502 or AFSC 8T000), or civilian equivalent.
+ Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical customers in front of various sized domestic and international audiences.
+ F135 test cell experience.

Onsite: Employees who are working in onsite roles will primarily work onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
