Your role and responsibilities
We are seeking a Product Manager with deep expertise in environmental compliance, sustainability reporting, and waste management to shape the future of Maximo HSE. This role focuses on helping organizations manage environmental impact, hazardous materials, and waste across complex industrial operations.
You will combine environmental subject-matter expertise with strong product management skills to translate regulatory requirements and operational realities into scalable software capabilities. The ideal candidate understands the nuances of waste classification, tracking, and disposal — and can turn those into intuitive workflows that meet global compliance standards.
This role requires a balance of strategic thinking and hands-on execution: defining the roadmap, validating requirements with clients, and ensuring our product empowers organizations to meet environmental targets safely and efficiently.
*
Own the product vision, roadmap, and strategy for environmental and waste management capabilities within Maximo HSE.
*
Translate environmental regulations (EPA, EU Waste Framework Directive, ISO 14001, etc.) into product features and workflows.
*
Define waste management functionality, including waste profiling, storage tracking, manifests, and disposal workflows.
*
Partner with clients, regulators, and industry experts to identify emerging environmental compliance needs and market opportunities.
*
Collaborate with design, development, and QA teams to deliver features that balance regulatory precision with operational usability.
*
Support go-to-market activities with sales, marketing, and consulting teams; serve as the SME in customer engagements and industry events.
*
Track evolving environmental regulations, circular economy initiatives, and sustainability reporting standards to guide product direction.
*
Ensure integration between waste management modules and existing Maximo features such as assets, work orders, inspections, and risk management.
Required technical and professional expertise
*
7-10 years of professional experience, with at least 3-5 years in environmental compliance, sustainability management, or waste operations.
*
Deep understanding of environmental regulations, waste classification systems, and reporting requirements.
*
Proven experience in product management or product ownership, ideally within enterprise or compliance software.
*
Familiarity with Maximo or comparable EAM/EHS systems.
*
Demonstrated ability to transform complex regulatory and operational requirements into usable product solutions.
*
Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams (engineering, design, sales, and compliance).
*
Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
Preferred technical and professional experience
*
Certifications or training in environmental compliance, waste management, or ISO 14001/45001 standards.
*
Knowledge of waste data analytics, emissions tracking, and sustainability reporting tools.
*
Prior experience presenting at environmental or regulatory conferences.
*
Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or Business.
