Job Summary and Qualifications
1. Position Summary:
The Director of Nursing (DON) will oversee clinical operations at Centennial Hospital, a campus of The Medical Center of Aurora. As a growing inpatient, acute care facility, the Director of Nursing will establish and support clinical operations to new and expanded services. This position will work collaboratively with the COO to develop and execute on the strategic growth plan for the hospital and serve as the nursing executive for the campus.
In conjunction with the COO, the DON will have clinical and executive oversight of a wide-range of opening tactics including:
Development of Scope of Services for growing/expanding services
+ Establishing Policy and Patient Management Guidelines between CH and TMCA
+ Management of Staffing Plan and Hiring
+ Collaborating with Ancillary Leads to implement new clinical practices at CH Oversight of Clinical Activation Plan
+ Acting as executive lead over State Licensure Survey Plan and The Joint Commission Survey Plan
Upon opening, the DON, in collaboration with service line leaders, will have oversight of nursing operations in the medical/surgical units, critical care, the ER, and ancillary services. In partnership with the medical staff, the DON will oversee the clinical care provided at the campus. The DON will be responsible for nursing quality metrics, throughput metrics, and regulatory oversight. The DON will be directly responsible for the patient experience and corresponding HCAHPS metrics.

Position Requirements:
1. Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current licensure in the state of Colorado as a Registered Nurse.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in management.
Education: BSN required. Master in Nursing, Nursing Administration or business related degree preferred.
1. Experience: Background in inpatient nursing required, ER or critical care preferred. Minimum three years in a nursing leadership position required.
Special Qualifications: Demonstrates a comprehensive knowledge of the practice of nursing. Is detail-oriented and strong in project management and execution. Able to articulate a strong knowledge of service line development and operational growth.
