Your Impact
As a Quality Assurance Engineering Intern, you’ll work within the Global Merchandising organization to help ensure Lowe’s private brand products meet the highest standards before they reach our customers. You’ll gain hands-on experience in our QA Test Lab—supporting engineers and lab technicians with product testing, results analysis, and process documentation. From evaluating product durability and safety to supporting cross-functional reviews with Merchandising and Compliance teams, you’ll contribute to work that directly impacts product quality and customer trust. This internship offers a unique blend of engineering rigor and retail impact.

Our 10-week summer internship program (May 26th – July 31st) immerses you in real-world retail operations. Do Your Best Work in Mooresville
This internship is based at our headquarters in Mooresville, North Carolina. Our corporate office is a space where you can collaborate and do your best work. Take a walk, grab a bite (or a cup of coffee), work out, or get a check-up – we invest in you so you can find your inspiration.
What You Will Learn
+ Assist in the setup, execution, and documentation of product performance and durability tests in Lowe’s QA Test Lab.
+ Work closely with engineers and technicians to analyze results and identify defects or failure points.
+ Support continuous improvement initiatives by reviewing lab processes, reporting tools, and quality protocols.
+ Learn how test results support merchant decisions, customer satisfaction, and brand confidence.
+ Observe how QA collaborates with cross-functional teams including Merchandising, Sourcing, Compliance, and Product Development.
+ Gain familiarity with national and industry standards for product testing (e.g., UL, ASTM, ANSI).
Minimum Qualifications
+ Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Product Design, or a related field.
+ Expected graduation date of December 2026 or May 2027.
Preferred Skills/Experience
+ 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher.
+ Strong technical aptitude and interest in product testing, materials science, or design validation.
+ Ability to read and interpret test specifications and engineering documents.
+ Familiarity with lab tools and measurement devices is a plus.
+ Detail-oriented with strong documentation and reporting skills.
+ Comfortable working in hands-on environments such as lab or workshop settings.
+ Experience in a leadership position at work or within a campus organization is a plus.
