As a Quality Assurance Engineering Intern, you’ll work within the Global Merchandising organization to help ensure Lowe’s private brand products meet the highest standards before they reach our customers. You’ll gain hands-on experience in our QA Test Lab—supporting engineers and lab technicians with product testing, results analysis, and process documentation. From evaluating product durability and safety to supporting cross-functional reviews with Merchandising and Compliance teams, you’ll contribute to work that directly impacts product quality and customer trust. Do Your Best Work in Mooresville

This internship is based at our headquarters in Mooresville, North Carolina. Our corporate office is a space where you can collaborate and do your best work. Take a walk, grab a bite (or a cup of coffee), work out, or get a check-up – we invest in you so you can find your inspiration.

What You Will Learn

+ Assist in the setup, execution, and documentation of product performance and durability tests in Lowe’s QA Test Lab.

+ Work closely with engineers and technicians to analyze results and identify defects or failure points.

+ Support continuous improvement initiatives by reviewing lab processes, reporting tools, and quality protocols.

+ Learn how test results support merchant decisions, customer satisfaction, and brand confidence.

+ Observe how QA collaborates with cross-functional teams including Merchandising, Sourcing, Compliance, and Product Development.

+ Gain familiarity with national and industry standards for product testing (e.g., UL, ASTM, ANSI).

Minimum Qualifications

+ Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Product Design, or a related field.

+ Expected graduation date of December 2026 or May 2027.

Preferred Skills/Experience

+ 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher.

+ Strong technical aptitude and interest in product testing, materials science, or design validation.

+ Ability to read and interpret test specifications and engineering documents.

+ Familiarity with lab tools and measurement devices is a plus.

+ Detail-oriented with strong documentation and reporting skills.

+ Comfortable working in hands-on environments such as lab or workshop settings.

+ Experience in a leadership position at work or within a campus organization is a plus.
