Position Overview:
The Aquatics Coordinator supports the daily operation, safety, and programming of the Lanza Activities Center pool. This position ensures all aquatic activities promote youth development, safety, and skill-building while maintaining compliance with local and agency safety regulations. The Coordinator develops engaging aquatic programs, provides lifeguard coverage, conducts water safety training, and collaborates with other programs to integrate aquatic activities into agency-wide recreation and therapeutic initiatives.
Position Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required, Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation, Physical Education, or related field preferred. Current American Red Cross Lifeguard, CPR, and First Aid Certifications required. Water Safety Instructor (WSI) Certification required. Minimum 2 years of aquatic experience, including lifeguarding or program instruction. Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification preferred; required within one year of hire. Ability to engage youth in structured recreational and educational activities. Valid NYS Driver’s License required. Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
Schedule: 1pm to 9pm
