ABOUT THE POSITION
The Clerical Assistant will perform a variety of clerical duties including, data entry, working at front reception/front desk, customer service, and working with multi-telephone lines.
Clark County Family Services is accepting applications for a Part Time Clerical Assistant.
Clark County Family Services (CCFS) is the local public agency whose role is to help keep children safe. The agency was formed in July 2002 in response to the merger of state and county child welfare services.

Protecting children from abuse and neglect by partnering with our community to build safe, nurturing and stable families, to support family preservation when possible, to provide permanent families for those children who cannot safely return home and to ensure the well-being of children in our care.
Please Note: Part-time employment will not lead to permanent employment. Part-time hourly employees are used to fill positions normally less than twenty (20) hours per week. Part-time employees do not receive benefits.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience:
Equivalent to graduation from high school and 1 (one) year of full time general clerical experience working in a office setting.
Licensing and Certification:
Must possess a valid Nevada Class C driver's license at the time of appointment.
Background Investigation:
Employment is contingent upon the results of a background investigation.
Must not have any qualifying offense that violates the standards required by NRS 43B.198 and/or NRS 432B.199.
As indicated in NRS 432A.1773, any person hired to work in a licensed child care facility, who is responsible for the daily operations, administration or management of the child care facility must be at least 21 years of age.
Pre-Employment Drug Testing:
Employment is contingent upon the results of a pre-employment drug examination.
Working Conditions:
Work shifts may include day, swing shift, and weekends (including Holidays).
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
- Type correspondence, reports, forms and documents related to the unit, to take notes and meeting minutes, knowledge of computer programs including MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio.
- Ability to learn the use of other department software as needed, may operate specific software for inputting records or retrieving records as necessary.
- Proof read and check documents for grammar, spelling and provide edits as necessary.
Ability to drive a county car, use office equipment such as printers or copiers, establish and maintain office files (physical files or electronic files).
- Compile material for meetings or training, performs basic office support tasks including but not limited to retrieving the mail, distributing mail, coordinating meetings or other duties as required.
- Correct business English including spelling, grammar and punctuation, ability to deal with the public, other departments, or outside stake holders as necessary in person, over the phone or by email.
- Enter data accurately and timely with great attention to detail, ability to read and gather data from county documents and summarize or itemize the data, ability to maintain confidentiality in a Child Welfare setting.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Mobility to work in an office setting, use standard office equipment, drive a motor vehicle, vision to read printed material, and hearing and speech to communicate in person or over the telephone. Accommodation may be made for some of these physical demands for otherwise qualified individuals who require and request such accommodation.
